Summer 2023 Newsletter

Summer schedule changes

Summer is right around the corner! If you need to change your schedule, please contact us as soon as possible. We also appreciate advance notice about travel plans so we can staff accordingly or use those appointment times for make-up sessions for other clients.

Clinic Closures

Our clinic will be closed on May 29th in observance of Memorial Day, July 4th for Independence Day, and September 4th in observance of Labor Day.

Spring Lake Park Parade

Metro Therapy will be participating in the Spring Lake Park Tower Days parade on June 8th, 2023. The parade starts at 6:30 and it’s always fun for us to see familiar faces in the crowd. Look for our neon shirts and bubbles!

Afternoon in the Park is back!

We are so excited to host our afternoon in the park again this summer. Families who have been with us for a while may remember this event, but for many of you it will be brand new as we haven’t been able to do it since 2019! Mark your calendars for July 8th and plan to come to Flannery Park in Fridley anytime between 1:00-4:00. This is a family event that will include games, activities, snacks, prizes, and a photographer to snap some fun, casual family or kid portraits. We can’t wait to see you there!

Physical Therapy

Hopefully you’ve heard the news, but Metro Therapy is now offering physical therapy in Fridley! Please speak with our front office or your child’s therapist if you would like information about a physical therapy evaluation and spread the word if you know anyone looking for physical therapy services. Physical therapy can help kids with: torticollis, Down syndrome, toe walking, cerebral palsy, atypical walking, difficulties with coordination and balance

Meet our New Therapists

We are pleased to welcome two new speech therapists to our team this summer. Becca Guss and Ellie Thompson will be starting in June. They are both looking forward to getting to know our families and providing great speech services for our kids!

Our physical therapist, Reilly Peterson has also just joined us mid-May!

Back to School Prep

We know summer is just getting started, but it always goes so fast! At the end of the summer we will do a theme week of back to school prep. Activities will include All About Me for kids to practice sharing information about themselves with new classmates and teachers, container and fastener practice for independent dressing and lunch time, handwriting, coloring, cutting, and gluing activities, and more.
