Occupational therapists at Metro Therapy specialize in the evaluation and treatment of the following:

When to Refer?
A referral for an occupational therapy evaluation is appropriate if you child is
- Easily distracted or reacts negatively to typical sights, sounds, and things they touch
- Struggling to tolerate typical childhood foods
- Having difficulty falling or staying asleep
- Resistance to self-care tasks, such as washing hair, brushing teeth, or cutting nails
- Licking or chewing on non-food objects after age 3
- Craving or seeking movement, such as spinning, jumping, or crashing
- Fearful of heights or movement
- Struggling to sit still or attend in school or to complete homework
- Easily fatigued
- Appearing uncoordinated or awkward, falling often, or bumping into objects
- Needing structure and routines or struggling to cope with changes
- Difficulty getting along with peers
- Strong emotional responses, such as frequent trantrumming
