Getting Started

First, read about our occupational and speech therapy services at Metro Therapy by clicking on the links in the left menu bar.

Second, if you feel your child may benefit from services give us a call to get the process started.

When you call, the office manager will help you determine if an assessment for occupational and/or speech therapy is appropriate and work with you to fill out the necessary paperwork. (You can download the intake forms by clicking on "Download Forms" in the left menu bar). We will also help you to obtain the necessary referral from your child's physician.

Third, come in for an assessment. For more information, click on "Assessment" in the left menu bar.

In many cases, your health insurance will cover some or all of the assessment and treatment. We can help you determine what coverage you have depending on your insurance. We accept Medical Assistance, Preferred One, Cigna, U-Care, Blue Cross/Blue Shield, Choice Plus, United Heath, Medica, TriWest, Health Partners, and others. We also accept private pay and payment through waiver services.

Here are some examples of diagnoses we provide services for: sensory processing disorders, delays in motor skills and coordination, behavioral issues, delays in social and emotional development, hypotonicity, cerebral palsy, autism spectrum disorders (autism, asperger's, PDD), attention deficits disorders (ADD, ADHD), obsessive-compulsive disorders, tourette's syndrome, learning disabilities, down syndrome, visual and hearing impairments, speech and language impairments, feeding disorders, dyspraxias, fetal alcohol syndrome, epilepsy, mental retardation, and failure to thrive.
