Assessment
Standardized, observational, and clinical assessments are used by therapists to assess your child's current level of functioning. Evaluations typically fall between 60-90 minutes in length depending on the type and number of tests that are completed.
- Occupational therapy evaluations use a combination of standardized assessments, clinical observation, and parent report to assess your child's abilities related to sensory processing and central nervous system functioning.
- Speech therapy evaluations use formal evaluation measures to assess receptive and expressive language, articulation, fluency, and pragmatic skills. Feeding skills and voice production may be assessed through clinical observation.
Results and recommendations will be discussed immediately following the evaluation, and a full written report will be mailed to the family within 2 weeks of the evaluation.
